Recently, People's Government of Beijing Municipality released the "Beijing’s 14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of High-End Technological Industries" (hereinafter referred to as the "Plan"), stating that Beijing will actively cultivate and form two internationally leading pillar industries, four "Beijing Intelligent Manufacturing" industries with distinctive advantages, four innovatively linked "Beijing Service" industries and a batch of future frontier industries in order to build the "2441" system for high-end technological industries and the 2.0 upgraded version of the high-end technological industries.

Among them, the two international leading pillar industries are the new-generation information technology and medical health. The new-generation information technology projects will be placed in Haidian District, Chaoyang District, and Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, aiming to make an operating revenue of 2.5 trillion yuan in the new-generation information technology industry by 2025. The medical health industry has achieved a leading advantage in next-generation vaccines, antibody drugs, cell and gene therapy, and domestically-made high-end medical equipment. In the northern part of Beijing, Changping District and Haidian District are the key locations for the medical health industry. In the south of Beijing, Daxing District and Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area are the key locations. Beijing aims to make an operating revenue of 1 trillion yuan in the medical health industry by 2025, of which 400 billion yuan in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
The 2021 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) will be held at the Beijing National Convention Center and Shougang Park from September 2nd-7th. 2021 CIFTIS will set up about 130,000 square meters of exhibitions, more than 100 forums and conferences, as well as promotion and negotiation activities.

Meanwhile, Beijing will take the lead in laying out a batch of future frontier industries, aiming at the international frontiers to seize the commanding heights of industrial development, and deploying in a batch of disruptive technologies with far-reaching influence that can change the pattern of science and technology, economy, society, and ecology. Through the establishment of new formats and new models based on new principles and technologies, a reserve echelon for the sustainable development of high-tech industries will be formed.
Grasping global hot trends such as digital economy, carbon peak and carbon neutrality, the 2021 CIFTIS will highlight that openness and cooperation of services will promote the recovery of the world economy. Focusing on the theme of 2021 CIFTIS, "Towards Digital Future and Service Driven Development", six types of activities will be held, including global trade in services summits, forums and conferences, exhibitions, promotions and negotiations, achievement releases, and side events.
In terms of forums and conferences, summit forums, brand thematic forums and industry conferences will be held. Among them, industry conferences will lead the development of the industry by facilitating discussions and exchanges on hot topics in service areas such as digital economy, carbon peak carbon and carbon neutrality, pandemic prevention and health, intellectual property protection, industrial Internet, further expansion and opening up of service industry, and free trade zone construction.
In terms of exhibitions, comprehensive exhibitions and thematic exhibitions will be held. Among them, the thematic exhibitions will be located in Shougang Park, with 8 thematic enterprise exhibitions including telecommunications, computer and information services, financial services, cultural and travel services, education services, sports services, supply chain and business services, engineering consulting and construction services, and healthcare services. The exhibitions will fully demonstrate the new technologies, new models and new achievements in various fields under the development trend of digitalization, networkization and intelligentization.
In terms of promotion and negotiation, three types of activities will be held, including country-specific promotions and negotiations, promotions and negotiations for China’s provinces, regions and cities, including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and promotions and negotiations for industries. It will invite embassies and consulates of foreign countries and regions, business associations, government departments from various provinces, regions and cities, as well as Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, industry associations, etc. to promote advantageous areas, cooperation projects, and policies and measures for regional innovation and development of services in trade. Government agencies, domestic and foreign business associations, enterprises and others will be invited to participate in events such as policy interpretation, special promotions, demand release, project matching, etc.
The 2021 CIFTIS will continue to be presented via online and offline integration, highlighting the characteristics of digitalization, internationalization, specialization, and marketization, and build a global platform for exhibition, exchange, negotiation and cooperation.
