The China Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services 2021 (CIFTIS) will be held in China National Convention Center and Shougang Park from September 2 to September 7. With the theme “Towards Digital Future and Service Driven Development ”, the fair will set up a 130000-square-meter exhibition area and organize kinds of activities including more than 100 forums, conferences, promotion and negotiation activities, etc. So far, the scheduling of the venues for conferences and forums during the fair has been successfully completed.
According to the requirements of time, scale and content, the working group of the fair has made an overall plan for the scheduling of forums, conferences and activities. According to the finally completed The Venue Allocation Plan for the CIFTIS, the summit forums, provincial, municipal and national promotion activities as well as industry conferences unrelated to the themes are to be held in China National Convention Center while Brand Forums, promotion and negotiation conferences and side events focusing on 8 themes will be held in Shougang Park in principle.
Reasonable arrangement of conference venues and improving the utilization efficiency of venue resources are important for the smooth and successful fulfillment of the CIFTIS 2021. Compared with previous fairs, the venue allocation of the forums of this year’s fair has three main characteristics:
1. “Two Venues for One Fair”. This year, the CIFTIS will set up “two venues” for the first time in the history of the CIFTIS, one in China National Convention Center and the other in Shougang Park.
2. Various activities and lots of sessions. In addition to classic projects such as conferences, forums, promotion and negotiation activities, this year’s fair will add some side events, which require the fair to provide business or leisure areas in line with the atmosphere for participating companies or institutions.
3. The conference venues in Shougang Park are relatively scattered and are operated independently, which puts forward higher requirements for the overall planning of conference venue resources and the speed of platform turnover.
In order to allocate the venues more scientifically and rationally to ensure the efficient transition and turnover of platforms between conferences, the working group of the fair, based on the previous experience and the actual situation of this year’s fair, has repeatedly conducted the sand table exercise of venue allocation, carefully considered the allocation plan and finally complete the plan successfully, which will contribute to the organic integration between exhibitions and conferences and the two-way guidance of the flow of people between China National Convention Center and Shougang Park,
Jointly hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the people’s Republic of China and the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, the fair is the world’s first comprehensive exhibition in the field of service trade and an important window for China’s service industry to open to the outside world.
Exhibitions and displays this year consist of comprehensive and thematic exhibitions. Comprehensive exhibitions will be held in China National Convention Center, including trade in services achievement pavilions, countries & regions pavilions, provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities’ pavilions, and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan pavilions as well as a special digital service area. Thematic exhibitions will be held in Shougang Park with 8 thematic sections, including telecommunications, computer and information services, finance services, culture & tourism services, education services, sports services, supply chain and business services, project consulting and construction services and healthcare services.
Taking measures of “Two Venues for One Fair” for the first time is the embodiment of keeping pace with the times and pursuing innovative development. Shougang Park, as one venue of the CIFTIS, will be shaped into a settlement-like exhibition space with strong urban park attribute by integrating the rich industrial heritage style with modern exhibitions. The exhibition area of the CIFTIS is arranged around Beiyuan Industrial Heritage Park, the core of Shougang Park and formed a “three horizontal and one vertical” landscape corridor system with Olympic venues, Industrial Relics and surrounding landscape, which provides visitors with opportunities to experience and travel around and helps create a unique cultural brand of the fair.
The diversified environment and atmosphere in Shougang Park provide good conditions for exhibitors to hold various side events. The characteristic style of “Mountain-Water-Industrial Relics” in Shougang Park not only meets the needs of exhibitions and conferences of the CIFTIS, but also provides multiple functions such as leisure and experiencing. While visiting in the garden-like exhibition halls, the visitors can also appreciate the symbolic landscapes including Shijing Hill, Qunming lake, Xiuchi, Shougang ski jumping platform and the blast furnace or experience various side events like business salon, dinner party and cocktail party.
