According to the Development Report of Robot Industry in China (2021) recently released by the Chinese Institute of Electronics, China's robot industry has developed rapidly in recent years. Even affected by the pandemic, China's industrial robot market still contributed about 40% of the global market in 2020, and remained the world's largest robot consumer for several consecutive years. In 2021, the domestic robot market is expected to reach RMB 83.9 billion in scale.

The robot market of China is a leading one in the world and is the backbone that supports the development of the robot industry. The Report shows that, the scale of China's robot market is expected to reach RMB 83.9 billion in 2021, and the average growth rate from 2016 to 2023 will hit 18.3%. Among them, RMB 44.57 billion will come from the industrial robots, RMB 30.26 billion from service robots and RMB 9.07 billion from special robots.
In 2020, our domestic service robot market grew rapidly, with the demand in medical treatment, education, public services and other fields being the main driving force. With the influence of the market demand fluctuations, the market growth rate has rebounded in 2021. However, with the accelerated trend of population aging and the continued strong demand for medical and public services, China's service robots enjoy great market potential and development space, and the market scale and its overall proportion will continue to grow.
2021 China International Fair for Trade in Services (hereinafter referred to as “CIFTIS”) was held at China National Convention Center and Shougang Park during September 2-7, 2021. The CIFTIS had a digital service zone for the first time, more than 30 leading international and domestic digital service enterprises attended it, and most of the latest intelligent products such as automobile robots were exhibited.
At the exhibitions, JDT, JDL and JDH displayed many "Blackbox Technologies", such as JD intelligent customer service "Yanxi", virtual digital robot, JDL's intelligent robot and digital supply chain, as well as JDH's pharmaceutical supply chain, Internet medicine, health management, intelligent medicine and other products. At the CIFTIS, JD fully demonstrated the way and practice of helping the real economy develop as a new type of entity enterprise.
JD showed at the fair the latest generation of intelligent express delivery vehicles. The red vehicle is about 1.8m long and loaded with 18 express boxes of different sizes. This vehicle can deliver 500kg of express packages at a time, with a speed limit of less than 15km per hour and an endurance mileage of 100km. Now, it can drive automatically at L4, and can identify the traffic lights on the way and drive in cloudy and rainy weather conditions. It can do part of the work of the deliverymen. Compared with the previous generation model, its distribution efficiency is improved by about 80%.
And for Baidu at this CIFTIS, it focused on its work for industrial digital transformation in the field of digital economy, such as industrial in-depth learning open-source open-platform "PaddlePaddle", industrial Internet platform "Kai Wu", Apollo automotive robot, Xiaodu series, "Digital Star" operation platform, smart media, VR party construction and other products.
